COMMISSIONERS OFFICE TO RECEIVE $4.3M OVER 4 YEARS
Queensland Treasurer David Janetzki has delivered the first Budget of the new LNP Government that includes funding for the Office of the Commissioner for Body Corporate and Community Management in Queensland. The Commissioners office will receive an additional $4.3 million over four years, with $1.1 million ongoing, to improve information, education, and dispute resolution services. This funding is intended to help deliver faster access to justice for those involved in body corporate matters. The increased funding is partly to manage the additional workload resulting from the Building Units and Group Titles Act 1980 (BUGTA) reforms and aims to speed up the dispute resolution process.
The Commissioners office funding will support:
- Increased staffing: To handle the increased inquiries related to BUGTA and other body corporate matters.
- Faster dispute resolution: By improving the efficiency of the dispute resolution process.
- Improved information and education services: To better inform lot owners, committees, and other stakeholders about body corporate matters.
